Will do proper report later, but quick photo from warm up at dressage with Matti today. First in Intro C and Fourth in Prelim 7. Clever pony (and obviously feeling better after his physio session and carrot bribes!)

Feeling like a massive failure as had saddle fitter out on Sunday and not only do Amber & Matti's saddles no longer fit, but they also are quite sore because of it :( Matti is worse as he is quite stoic, so it has only been since he started to struggle in canter that I realised anything has been amiss. Amber is not as bad as she is pretty quick to tell me when something is not right. They both have physio tomorrow and I am going to have to rob a bank to get them both new saddles (and apologies in carrots)

Today I took Matti off to dressage at Wokingham Equestrian Centre. He loaded straight on and travelled well. Settled with his haynet while I got us ready and 'checked in'. Had about 30 minutes to warm up for Intro C, so he was really chilled out and did some super work. We both got a bit tense in the arena, but it ended up being one of those tests where it felt worse than it was. Got a respectable 64% and third. Had a quick break then tacked up and warmed up for Prelim 1. Sometimes he can get a bit fixated on the canter, but didn't today. Transitions were good but I did notice he was swinging his quarters out in the right canter. Went into the ring and he was more settled, but forgot how to do straight lines! He was a bit tense again but first canter was good. Second one (right) went a bit pear shaped as he went on wrong leg to start, then disunited, but got there in the end. This time, apart from that canter, it felt better than it looked but still got a fair 58% and sixth place. Very pleased with him and he loaded on the way back fine too.

The horses enjoyed having scratches this morning. I felt a bit sorry for Amber as the other two kept running away when she wanted to itch them. Mind you if she was a bit nicer to them, then they would not run away!

Henley of course showed the other two up and did well again. This time we worked on the large mounting block and she was completely unphased. She also had a nice groom and tidy up as she was looking rather feral!

Amber had obviously been talking to Matti as he wanted to bog off today too. I was mean and made him trot so he tried to evade me by doing amazing leg yield or shoulder in. I just made him work harder 😉 eventually he settled enough to walk home on a long rein. Bet he won't do either so well the next time I ask him to do so in the school though!

Amber doing her best giraffe impression before going on our hack today. She was certainly forward going again today - she actually tried to bog off in canter today! Then pulled a slam on the brakes and jump 6 foot sideways manoeuvre at a pile of horse poop - because she's never seen that before. She was good for the rest of the hack, which was just as well as it took me a while to arrange my brain, heart and stomach into their correct locations...

In trot if leaning on my hands didn't work then he would start going sideways or canter slower than a trot! As we approached the hill where we sometimes canter, I knew I would not be able to hold him so I got in there first and asked for canter. The resulting flat out gallop is probably as close as I will ever get to time travel!

Took Amber for a hack today to test out her 4WD (full set of shoes) and she was mega so think she approves 😊 she was a lot less spooky, forward going and her trot felt much bigger.
