Just had some exciting (and just a little bit terrifying) news...

I have been accepted to take part in The Wobbleberries challenge !  This means I have to complete a BE80 event (I have to ride a dressage test, then jump 80cm show jumps and a cross country course) in the autumn 2017.  Currently a 6" cross pole scares me! I am doing this to hopefully raise oodles of money for Willberry Wonder Pony and will be  #kickingcancersbutt   For me this is going to be like doing The London Marathon. Sober For October

Took Matti in the school today for a short session to see how he was feeling. Full of it was how he was feeling! But then he's not been in much work, new yard, routine & school all contributed to his energy. I may have called him a few rude names, especially after he did some vertical takeoff bounces after a disagreement about canter. So I made him do it again, then once on the other rein, before walking him to cool down off. On the plus side, he did also do some nice work in trot. Once he has settled more at the new yard, is used to the school and is back in a riding routine we'll be more confident with each other

16things - the future

So having done my update, I'm going to now recap/ expand/ change my goals that still need working on. 1 Fix horsebox Aim is to get Frog finished and MOT done. I'd like to say by the end of August, but being more realistic, I shall say end of September. 2 Class 2 or trailer licence As before, this is likely to go on the backburner until I change car or we deem it's necessary for me to do a class 2. 3 Competing I would like to enter some of the winter leagues that a couple of local venues run and also enter some of the online dressage competitions. By the end of the year I would like to think that Matti will be consistent at Prelim, and possibly ready to debut at Novice. Amber would be established at Intro and starting out at Prelim. As a bit of fun, I would like to start entering some of the photo shows again, as always enjoyed them in the past. 4 Other horse-related goals I would like to start up with Horse Agility again, get the horses better behaved and potentially lo...

#16things long overdue update

Oh well, I have not been doing so well at keeping this up to date again! here is a quick round up of my progress (or not) of my #16things 1 Fix horsebox We picked up 'Frog' at the beginning of April. Not surprisingly she needed some work doing before we can use her to take the horses out. This has been done, but now she needs her MOT and will probably need more work to be done by now. Sometimes I feel like fate is telling me that I am not destined to have an actual working horse box! 2 Class 2 or trailer licence This is something that I am still thinking about, but is not urgent at the moment. I may be potentially upgrading my car in September, so if I end up with a suitable towing vehicle, I may look into doing my trailer test. 3 Competing I am having a blast with Matti competing at the moment. Since February we have done nine classes at five dressage competitions and have bagged two firsts, a second, a third, a fourth and two sixths! We have also qualified...

  Sorry that I have been quiet for a while, but we've had a bit of a change in the Team Solstice camp recently. Henley has gone to live with my mum. She really likes Henley and as she was looking for another mare to join her three, we decided that Henley would move to Kent and live with Pickles, Bud and Bailey. She has settled in well and the other three like her, although Pickles does not like the fact that she cannot bully Henley like she does the boys! Amber and Matti have moved to a new yard. I have been thinking about moving them for a little while, and then the perfect yard seemed to find me and so it became a definite move! I have been running on anxiety and stress for the past few weeks as I'm not good at coping with change, meeting new people etc, not to mention having to hand in my notice at the old yard and the worry of moving the horses - would they be ok to load/ travel and how would they cope with the change.
