Following on from my coaching with Flying Changes Coaching, I have been thinking about what 'sticks' I should use. So far I have two! (if anyone can think of some others, please post them). They are more to stop me from backing out of say a lesson, rather than not jumping on a planned day because my horse was being a pillock, although I might need sticks for those kind of events too. Accountability - If I post on here what my plans are, it then gives my excuses less credibility and I am less likely to back out. Plus, having to explain why I did not do something is going to be something I will want to avoid, especially if it is something daft! Selling matchy - sounds a little dramatic, but I have enough to open a shop (if not two)! If I back out of a lesson/ clinic social event etc for a 'wimpy reason' like the sky was the wrong colour or something, then I will advertise one or more sets of matchy. One that just popped into my head, and not sure if it will work but...

Amber and Matti had a saddle check last week by Julie Knaggs from Montague Saddles. Despite not having been ridden much (if at all) over the past few weeks, Amber was a little bit sore, so she will a physio treatment booked, and I'm keeping an eye out for a different saddle. Matti was not as bad, but is a little wonky bless him, so it will be the Chiro for him. TGI payday today! I thought that it was rather interesting that they both have very similar shapes (Amber is a smidge wider) and will be ok to share a saddle with shims for Matti to start with. from Solstice Dressage http://ift.tt/1dZceUn via IFTTT

Next up was The Holistic Hound and Horse Expo. This was a brilliant event with a variety of demos, talks and stands, organised by Holistic Animal Network UK. There is almost too much to talk about, but I got to watch a Horse Agility demo, a biomechanics lesson, booked a saddle fitting, attended talks on confidence and money, met someone who is just down the road so is going to let me know when they have a biomechanics clinic, learned about liability work and brought Blue a collar and lead from the Help For Heroes stand (while chatting to the lady about how awesome huskies are!). I am sure that I have forgotten to mention lots, it was a super day. It was also good for me as I had to go on my own (Simon was poorly), drive Simon's car, got a bit lost and when there actually talked to people, started conversations and everything! from Solstice Dressage http://ift.tt/1dZceUn via IFTTT

Ok, onto the nicer side of things! First was having a coaching session a few weeks ago with the lovely Jenni Winter of Flying Changes Coaching. Jenni is very kindly supporting The Wobbleberries challenge so we talked over various topics including motivation, SMART goals and 'carrots and sticks'. I have quite a few 'carrots' ie positive reasons for achieving steps, but need to think about 'sticks', ie consequences of not achieving steps (you would think that this would be the easy bit for me!). Overall it was a really useful session with lots to think about and I have started implementing some of what we talked about already. Hoping to have made some more progress before our next one. Whoops, been rubbish at updating again.Have got a few good things to post about, and a lot of 'same shit, different day' stuff too! Lets get that out of the way first! Bloody cars, I'm sure they are trying to kill me. Picked mine up this morning after it had work done on it to pass MOT, on the way home the engine light comes on and loses almost all power. Managed to make it back safely, but meant I couldn't go to Ewshot today. On Wednesday I was using Simon's car and the left front tyre went bang, thankfully Simon was able to come and help me change it. Tilly and Echo are missing. They escaped from my office by the Tynley Hall Golf Course in Rotherwick and were last seen together about 45 minutes ago. I saw Tilly about 5 minutes after that on her own, but no sign of Echo since. Currently working my way through dogslost, dog warden, local vets etc. Will sort out some better photos soon. Please share if you can.
