31 things February Review

Seriously, it's March already? Where has this month gone? Anyway, time to run through my 31 things and give updates on them all.

1. Pass CBT so I can ride my awesome bike
Still not done anything with this one. I am now wondering whether this one is worth doing currently.

2. Have driving lessons & pass test
So, I finally got a driving lesson booked for 12th March! It will be a 2 hour session and it will be interesting to see how I get on back behind the wheel again. I just have to try and find my provisional licence!

3. Start riding Amber
I am still unable to use out 'riding paddock' but if the weather continues to be this dry, I might just start riding in our field to start, then round the farm. In fact, I'm hoping to hop on board this Sunday.

4. Have a go at horse agility with Amber
Over the next couple of days I will be rescuing my jump poles and blocks and starting to have a wee go with her over the weekend.

5. Start working Blossom and back in early Summer
Since Sunday, I have been putting a bridle on Blossom so that she can get used to the bit in her mouth. She has been doing very well, although I am only doing it for about 10 minutes at a time. I have also been leading her around the field, getting her used to stand, walk on and turning.

6. Take both to one horse show
I managed to get the Horse And Hound showing special, so have a list of local shows, now I just need to sort out some transport to get them there!

7. Start agility and/ or training classes with Blue
Aside from doing training myself, and once we get the jumps sorted, I can do this with him in the field. Would still like to attend some classes- hopefully it won't be too long!

8. Decorate house
Wallpapering has been done (thanks to Simon's parents), still waiting for Simon to finish sanding the wall in the hall so I can paint, put up coat rack and painting though. I might end up doing it myself, but not to sure how level the wall will be afterwards!

9. Do maths course either GCSE or similar
I wanted to do a Learn Direct maths course, but sadly they do not do it online, it has to be done at one of their learning centres and there are none in my area that do maths! So bit stuck on this one. Had a look at the Alison site too, but gave up trying to find their basic maths course.

10. Learn to speak, read and write Spanish. At least speak it
Well, I've started listening to CD 1 again, but not got to far yet. Wonder if it's going to take me longer to learn Spanish than I hoped.

11. Dig out the drums and learn to play them, not just use them for stress therapy!
Still waiting for study to get sorted. The problem is, much of the stuff is Simon's work/ computer stuff and heaven forbid I should touch any of that. So I have a plan for doing a huge sort out/ tidy up when Simon next has his off days.

12. Set up on line blog/ website/ flickr/ photobucket accounts and keep up to date.
I admit I have been slacking on keeping my accounts up to date, but hopefully more regular service shall resume shortly.

13. Get my Tattoo
Still thinking on this one!

14. Improve my self confidence and self esteem
This one is still going well, and little things such as speaking to the vet and farrier, as well as meeting Tibago's owner over the weekend have helped alot too. Silly as it may sound, I really need a haircut as I know this will give me a big self esteem boost.

15. Start some voluntary work
This month I have been really quite busy with doing various bits, so this one has gone on the back burner. However a local magazine had an article about Riding For The Disabled, so another charity to speak to.

16. Have a holiday abroad
I discovered that Sigur Ros are performing in Vienna in September. This would be a perfect oppertunity to take a holiday. Of course Simon is about as enthusiastic as a roadkill weasel- I don't think he actually ever wants to leave these shores, so I might give up on wanting a holiday with him and find someone else to go with instead.

17. Find a yard of my own
I did find a yard that was in Basingstoke which would have been ideal, but had already gone when I enquired. However, it was suggested about trying the council to see if they have land to rent, so I shall look into that.

18. Take on a project pony (IE from sales) and train, then find new home
Now I admit, I have been having a look, but until finances/ space is sorted out, it would not be very fair to go ahead with this one just yet.

19. Go to one equestrian event such as Badminton, Olympia etc
Well, Simon is up for going to the Cross Country day at Badmington, so now I just have to sort out tickets.

20. Put Amber in foal
Well, I've been to see another stallion, and hope to be able to go and see another one soon. OI've spoken to Mrs Farmer (feels better calling the people who own the farm Mr & Mrs Farmer as opposed to Yard Owner), and she would be quite happy for Amber to have a foal at the yard. We should be okay to put a field shelter up- which could be converted to a stable if needs be too.

21. Look at fostering rescue dogs for one of the dog rescues
Other than having my head turned by the cute puppies at the yard, I am still determined that any other dog we get will be a rescue, and it will be this year.

22. Do a photography course
Have not had much luck with finding free courses, so I guess I'll be saving up to do a course.

23. Take a photo everyday and post to blog
Have missed a few days again this month, but am still enjoying doing this one.

24. Go out more- to cinema, pub/ restaurant/ days out and of course time at home (Kent)
This month we have not been out so much so hopefully we can go out a bit more next month.

25. Plan Wedding
Ring has been ordered, but other than that, a certain person has been somewhat useless on wanting to sit down and come up with dates etc. I know I could just sort it out myself, but get a bit fed up with having to do everything. You'd think he'd be keen on wanting to do this one, but instead spends hours messing about with routers and the like for the 'home office'. Sigh.

26. Healthy Me
I have certainly been doing more exercise and have been trying to eat breakfast before I go out.

27. Get A Job
CV uploaded and have had an agency contact me and sent me some info about a job, but I have not heard anything further.

28. Clear My Overdraft
Well, I have made a start, it's only £30, but every little helps.

29. Accomplish 1 thing everyday
Same as last month really. Some days I don't seem to get much done, and other days I achive a lot. But at least that means it all balences out. I just need to get better about blogging them!

30. Race For Life
I have not signed up yet, but have found out that the race in Basingstoke will be held on Wed 22nd June in the evening. So I'll have to check the date and time will be ok, or I can do the one in Reading which is on a Sunday.

31. A Better Me
I feel like am progressing slowly but surely on this one. I have not yet been able to get my hair done, but have this planned for Friday. I've started on sorting out my clothes, and making progress around the house and with the critters which is also helping towards a 'better me'.
